Our Class Flat Stanley

Lindsey is back in Europe! This time she took Gavin and Savannah's Flat Stanleys to see France, Spain and Portugal. I'll post pictures as soon as she sends them!

December 2013

Lindsey is on the road (or in the sky?) again! This time she took Flat Aurora (made by Eva) and Flat Randy (made by Dominick) to South Africa! So far the Stanleys have stopped in Johannesburg and Cape Town after an 18 hour flight.

The Stanleys have seen a lot of interesting things in South Africa! They've seen lots of wild animals, including cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, antelope, ostriches, and penguins!

Fall 2012

Mrs. Grenier's sister, Lindsey, is taking our class Flat Stanley on a world tour! He will be visiting many different countries in Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Our Stanley is on his way!

Stanley left Chesapeake Beach on Sunday, September 16th and arrived in New York City later that day. Have a great trip Stanley!

"Goodbye Calvert County! I'll be back at Thanksgiving!"

 Here's Stanley in New York City!

"New York City is so busy! It is very different from Calvert County. It is a huge urban city. Can you find New York City on a United States map?"

On Wednesday, September 19th, Stanley left on his flight from NYC to a layover in Germany.

 

"The airplane was so exciting! Finally, I made it to Germany. I got to see some cuckoo clocks and nutcrackers in the German gift shop at the airport. We didn't stay here very long, just enough time to board a new plane for Singapore!"

 

"We've arrived in Singapore! This is the butterfly garden at the airport in Singapore. 

Next, we'll take a plane to Bali!"

These are wild monkeys. "I love monkeys, and they love me! This one wanted to keep me!" says Stanley.

"We got to visit an elephant camp! Here I am with a friendly elephant."

"I got to visit a school in Bangkok, Thailand! These kids have read my book, too!"

"I'm in Australia! It was a long trip to Melbourne, but I made it here in one piece. It's a good thing I'm laminated! Here we are along the coast near Melbourne. Can you find Melbourne on a map of Australia? 

Melbourne is the second biggest city in Australia." 

 

"I love Melbourne! It is a beautiful city. We continued our adventure by taking a plane to the northern part of Australia and the city of Cairns. We went snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef!"

 

"The Great Barrier Reef is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is the only living thing that is visible from space. It is the world's largest coral reef. More than 1,500 different species of fish live in the reef!"

"We took a long drive down Australia's eastern coast to the big city of Sydney!"

"Here I am at the famous Sydney Opera House!"

"This is Bondi Beach, one of the most famous surfing beaches in the world!"

"We got to see lots of wonderfully unique Australian animals, like these koalas and kangaroos! 

They were very friendly."

"Australia is wonderful! I hope your Stanleys are having as much fun as I am.

Now I'm off to New Zealand!"

"New Zealand is wonderful! This is where all of the "Lord of the Rings" movies and it is so pretty! While in New Zealand we've been so busy. We went skydiving, hiking on a glacier, and street luging on a mountain! Our trip has been so much fun, but I can't wait to come 

home and see you all in class. "

"We'll be flying across the Pacific Ocean from New Zealand to San Francisco, which is in California! Then we'll fly from San Francisco to Dulles International Airport in Virginia."
